
About Lisa Thiombiano
Lisa Thiombiano is a globally recognized domestic violence expert, survivor-advocate, and movement leader with more than a decade of impact across the U.S., Africa, and beyond. She has built Stand Up Survivor into a trusted, high-credibility organization serving survivors, communities, churches, schools, and international partners with trauma-informed education, survivor support systems, and organizational training.

With a background spanning education, social services, child welfare, and behavioral health, Lisa brings a rare blend of lived experience and clinical expertise. She understands the complex realities survivors face emotionally, psychologically, and systemically. She as spent years designing practical safety pathways, support structures, and evidence-based tools that help individuals move from crisis to clarity, and from survival to long-term restoration.

Lisa is a multi-published author whose work has been featured in numerous media outlets, conferences, and global platforms. She has spoken to audiences around the world, equipping leaders, practitioners, and communities with high-impact strategies for supporting survivors and disrupting cycles of abuse.

Lisa holds a BS in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, and is completing her doctoral research focused on domestic violence and survivor outcomes. She holds a BS in Psychology and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She has also completed her doctoral dissertation research focused on domestic violence and survivor outcomes.

As a survivor herself, Lisa leads with conviction, compassion, and a global lens. Her work is grounded in one driving belief: every survivor deserves safety, dignity, and a future they can trust.
