Freedom Bags

Oftentimes survivors and their children need to leave quickly, without the opportunity to pack or safely retrieve their belongings.  In that case, we equip them with 2 weeks worth of items in a duffle bag.  We know that a lack of essentials is one reason a survivor may return to an abusive relationship.  By removing providing a duffle bag, we're removing one reason the survivor may return to their abuser as well as letting them know that someone cares about them and their safety.

Here are some of the items included:

  • Inspirational books

  • Gently used / new toys (for their child/children)

Circle K volunteers joined us for Domestic Violence Awareness Month to assemble Freedom Bags.

For $75 you can sponsor a Freedom Bag for a survivor. A sponsorship of $125 includes a Freedom Bag with disposable phone. You can also donate the above items.
